Round 8 (Regular Season): Tolka Rovers win their first game

Irish Rovers can celebrate finally their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Turkish Istanbul (1-3) 51-46 on Sunday. Tolka Rovers took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Istanbul won third quarter 17-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tolka Rovers won last quarter 14-10. They held Istanbul to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Rovers forced 24 Istanbul turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ali Ceyisakar produced 4 points and 12 rebounds for Rovers. Istanbul's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Tolka Rovers left bottom position moving up to 47th place, which they share with 9 other teams including defeated Istanbul. It was Istanbul's third loss in a row.
Leader Vodno Suns delivered the sixth victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Vardar (4-4) 91-72 in Skopje. orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 assists. David Mojsovski contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Sinisa Trpcevic replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for Vardar. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vodno Suns have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-2 record. Vardar at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Gdynia.
A very close game was the one (derby !!!) between Polish Dziki and Turkish Pamukspor. Top-ranked Dziki (4-0) got a very close victory over 26th ranked Pamukspor (2-2). Dziki managed to escape with a 3-point win 65-62 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Rafal Mystkowski who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Namejs Rausis responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dziki have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 10 other teams. Loser Pamukspor keeps the twenty sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 18 other teams.

Rest of the games of round 8 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Prievidza crushed TEAM 6 141-64. Bahcesehir was beaten by Anadolu Efes 59-65. Szczecin lost to undefeated Traiskirchen 57-66.

A very close game was the one (derby !!!) between Polish Dziki and Turkish Pamukspor. Top-ranked Dziki (4-0) got a very close victory over 26th ranked Pamukspor (2-2). Dziki managed to escape with a 3-point win 65-62 on Sunday evening. Dziki trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 24-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Dziki forced 20 Pamukspor turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Rafal Mystkowski who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and Franciszek Sieczka who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Leader Vodno Suns delivered the sixth victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Vardar (4-4) 91-72 in Skopje. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Vodno Suns's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-14 extending their advantage to 19 points. Vodno Suns forced 24 Vardar turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Vardar's players. Mihail Angelovski orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 assists. David Mojsovski contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Vodno Suns players scored in double figures. Sinisa Trpcevic replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Maksim Dimoski added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Vardar. TEAM 6 - Prievidza 64-141

There was no surprise when 45th ranked North Macedonian TEAM 6 (2-6) was crushed by top-ranked Slovakian Prievidza (4-0) 141-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. Prievidza led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to TEAM 6's 28. They outrebounded TEAM 6 39-20 including 20 on the offensive glass. Prievidza shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Filip Torac who helped to win the game recording 23 points and Tomas Marek who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Prievidza players scored in double figures. Prievidza's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Adam Fischer responded with 20 points and Alexis Ciriaco scored 4 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Prievidza have a solid four-game winning streak.
